Don't want to trick or treat this halloween? No problem. Check out these fun activities for the kids
Given the state of the world, it’s important to still celebrate the holidays, even if they look a little different. Perhaps beggar’s night is canceled in your city or you simply don’t feel comfortable letting the kids collect candy from strangers. This doesn’t mean Halloween has to be completely shut down! Make the most of it with these simple, wallet-friendly Halloween activities!
Halloween Face Painting
Switch roles and give the kids face paint and have them paint your face! Who knows, you may have a budding make-up artist! If you follow me on IG you know my daughter is going to enjoy this. She loves to play in makeup.
Give Back This Halloween
Due to Covid, it’s not a secret, senior citizens are battling loneliness, especially in nursing homes. Why not give back by having the kids create fun, sparkly Halloween cards? Many nursing homes have implemented a protocol to disinfect all mail so no worries on sending bugs their way!
Monster Rocks
This is such an easy, inexpensive craft! Take a nature walk with the kids and find huge, interesting rocks. Next, grab googly eyes, paint, feathers, candy corn or whatever you have around the house and go crazy turning your rocks into cute monsters. Set them by your door to greet all the online deliveries!
Candy Hunt
Why does the Easter Bunny get to have all the fun? Grab little cellophane bags and stuff them with their favorite candy. Hide them as you would easter eggs and let the kids go crazy!
Create a Pinata
Kid’s LOVE pinatas but have they ever made one? Almost all ingredients for making a pinata can be found around the home. Here’s a simple tutorial over at Refinery29.
Who Wore It Best
What’s Halloween without skeletons? For just $1 at the Dollar Tree, pick up a few skeletons, grab doll clothing and see who can dress the skeletons the silliest. But don’t stop there! If you have yarn, have the kids glue “hair” onto the skeletons for a spooktacular good time!
Boo Brew
Want an easy, festive drink to celebrate Halloween? Grab a punch bowl and add the following (no measuring required, just add to taste!):
Any lemon-lime soda like Sprite
Green food coloring
Rainbow sherbet ice cream
Gummy worms
