What would Tracey wear
Well hello! Is it really 41 degrees here in New Orleans!? Runs to the Faux Fur! I have a love hate relationship when it comes to cold weather. I am southern and naturally love warm sunny days. So when the temperature drops and it gets cold I’m not really happy nor am I really upset, weird, right? You see, despite the cold weather Fall is my favorite season. I LOVE fall fashion not to mention fall weather equals great hair weather. (humidity in new orleans is no joke for us natural girls, So I welcome the frizz break) Since it’s so cold outside it's time for me to transition into my fall favorites, but of course I still have to keep my shorts nearby because the way NOLA works, It will be 70 degrees next week. So for the time being, let's dive into my favorite fall pieces we all should have in our closet.
Leather- Faux or real. Whatever your wallet allows. You should have it in your closet. Leather is timeless and can be worn day or night. I have a Faux leather dress I can’t wait to wear.
Chunky Sweater- I’m really loving the oversized trend. It combines comfort and style. The key is to look fashionable and not like you are playing dress up, so I would suggest sticking with one Oversized item. The chunky sweater is a great way to start. Pair that sweater with a cute pair of skinny jeans and booties, you’re ready to hit the streets.
Monochromatic look- When I moved into my house twelve years ago my living room was monochromatic grey. The wall color, sofa and even my curtains. I wasn’t playing. So when this trend came around you know I was excited. It’s such a clean look that allows you to play around with different textures or shades of the same color. This look allows you to look polished and honestly has the same wow factor as wearing a bold pattern.
Faux Fur- Yessss!! Give me a big faux jacket and I will give you LIFE honey. I love them! I especially love them in bright colors and patterns. I know, I just told yall about a nice clean look now here I am telling you to go get the most obnoxious coat you can find. Lol! You know sometimes you just have to shake things up. Ok! You don’t have to go get a bright pink coat or like me a black one with white stars but you should add one to your closet even if its solid black.
Plaid- This is such a classic print and I’m happy it's here for fall/winter. I know a lot of people are on the fence and don’t want to jump all in so start small. (I promise you won’t look like a catholic school girl). Add a cute plaid bag to an all black outfit for a pop of color or invest in outerwear. Zara has a bunch of cute Plaid jackets that will finish off your already fabulous outfit.
Other trends I’m loving are
1, Combat Boots
2. Statement sleeves
3. Small Bags
4. Tennis Shoes or Sneakers to the rest of the world
5. Suits
6. Animal Prints
Whatever you choose to rock, rock it with confidence and a little attitude.
